GEVES and CPVO are jointly organising a Vegetable Open Day in the GEVES experimental unit at Brion (Maine et Loire,France) on Wednesday 6 october 2010.
This open day is aimed at breeders, seed companies and representatives of the examination offices and registration authorities in the European Union, and will provide the occasion to present ongoing DUS trials of vegetable species.
This forum will also allow an exchange of views on essential aspects in relation to the harmonization of technical examinations, and in particular on two important issues:
- Variety reference collection: scope, management, use, maintenance....
- The consideration of disease resistance characteristics for DUS technical examinations: MATREF network, the undertaking of the disease resistance tests, choice of pathogens...

CPVO will present Community Plant Breeders’ Rights together with Naktuinbouw for technical examination and VKC for registration/plantscope database of new plant varieties in a “House of Varieties” platform (Hall 7 – 0710/0715/0809) at Hortifair 2009 from 13th to 16th October, Amsterdam Rai, NL.

The Community Plant Variety Office (CPVO) will host the annual meeting of the Technical Working Party for ornamental plants and forest trees (TWO) organized by the "International Union for the Protection of New Varieties of Plants" (UPOV), an intergovernmental organization based in Geneva. This event will take place in Angers from the 14th to the 18th September 2009.
